De George Nelson Cigar Tripod Lamp speelt met geometrie en juxtapositie, met zijn ronde, langwerpige plastic kap bedekt met potlooddunne verticale lijnen. Warm, diffuus licht sijpelt door dit doorschijnende omhulsel, gecreëerd via een techniek die Nelson in 1952 pionierde voor zijn Bubble Lamp.
